Psalm 90
Psalm 90
A prayer of Moses the man of God.
3 You turn people back to dust,
saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4 A thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.
5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
they are like the new grass of the morning:
6 In the morning it springs up new,
but by evening it is dry and withered.
saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4 A thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.
5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
they are like the new grass of the morning:
6 In the morning it springs up new,
but by evening it is dry and withered.
7 We are consumed by your anger
and terrified by your indignation.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 All our days pass away under your wrath;
we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
and terrified by your indignation.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9 All our days pass away under your wrath;
we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children.
17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands
As children of the Most High God, we have a responsibility to pray for our nations. It is however, a situation that we are facing. We appear to people of the world as being bored and out of options because we put our trust in Christ. In times of distress like this, we fast and pray for the same people who call us names, child of God, do not be disheartened.
(John 12:42-43)
Among the teachers of the law, there were those who believed in Jesus but were afraid to be known since they feared being thrown out of the synagogue.
Even today there are those who either reject the message because of the pleasing the crowd or because they feel being a believer is weakness especially men, I used to be one of those.
Our obedience to the word of God is the reason why today we are the ones to pray on behalf of the nations. Because we come with the authority of John 16:23-24 which is the assurance our Lord gave for answered prayer. "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,and your joy will be complete."
Child of God, when this outbreak began to hit the world, everyone started pointing fingers, cursing and full of dread but as a child of God, I was instructed by Holy Spirit to enquire of the Lord because we were told in Isaiah 8:12-13 “Do not call conspiracy
everything this people calls a conspiracy;do not fear what they fear,
and do not dread it.
The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,
he is the one you are to fear,
he is the one you are to dread.
The answer from Jesus was that, " it is God's anger for our sins".
When dealing with the anger of God, there is nothing one can do except to repent.
Child of God, with our families, let our knees get to know our Father more than ever.
This is a call to say the Kingdom of God is even closer than before, the message of God should be preached more than ever after this lockdown. Let people know it is never too late to seek God, but there isn't much time, make every second count as a child of God remember your reward awaits all those who work with enthusiasm for the Kingdom of God.

I pray for the sins of my leaders, and my country, in Jesus' name
I pray Lord God Almighty for the sins committed by all the nations of the earth, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Father by Your mercy and grace, may You come down speedily and restore our lands, in Jesus' name.
Father with Your loving kindness, may You forgive us for our sins, in Jesus' name.
2 Chronicles 8:14, Father, we are Your people, called by Your name, we humble ourselves, pray and seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways; may You hear us from heaven and forgive us our sins and heal our lands in Jesus Christ's name.
